Q20 of 95 Page 448

Why do all food chains start with plants?

Plants are the only living organism that can consume energy from sunlight to prepare food with the help of a process called photosynthesis. They are the primary producers of every ecosystem. And they are always the largest in number because there have to be more food producers than consumers, to sustain life on earth.
