FOOD WEB:

A food web is a network of interlocking and interdependent food chains in an ecological community. Food web is also known as a consumer- resource system. It is a graphical representation of what eats what.

Different food chains combine at various levels to form a food web. A food web is more accurate than a food chain. Animals eat different things, and in turn, get eaten by different animals. A food web shows most of its predators and prey, whereas a food chain only shows one predator and one prey at a time. The food web stabilizes the ecosystem and more energy is transferred. Through food webs, we also get to know the topmost predators of an ecosystem.

It is also helpful if in case an organism is removed from the food web, we can look at the alternate prey of the animal.
