Why was the name black hole given?

Black hole is a place where there is a tremendous amount of gravitational force that pulls almost everything inside it. The size is very small of this dying star but has a great density and attracts almost every nearby object towards it. Even the light can’t escape from it and gets absorbed at its centre. So the name Black Hole was given because gravitational pull prevents even light to radiate into the space and everything appears black. Since it does not reject any light we can’t see it and hence appearing black.
