Find the value of P if the number x, 2x+p and 3x+6 are the three consecutive terms of an arithmetic progression.

As, x, 2x + p and 3x + 6 are in AP


Difference between consecutive terms will be equal


⇒ 3rd term – 2nd term = 2nd term – 1st term


⇒ 3x + 6 – 2x – p = 2x + p – x


⇒ 2p = 6


⇒ p = 3
