Name the states which share the High Courts in India.

The Constitution of India provides for High Court in every state, but according to the 7th Amendment the Parliament may establish a common High Court for two or more states. Presently there are 24 High Courts in the country and 4 are common.

• Maharashtra, Goa, Daman& Diu, Dadra Nagar Haveli have a common Bombay High Court with its seat in Mumbai.


• West Bengal and Andaman &Nicobar have common Calcutta HC with its seat in Kolkata.


• Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh have common Guwahati HC with its seat in Guwahati.


• Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh have common Punjab and Haryana HC with seat in Chandigarh.
