In Fig., if l₁ || l₂, what is x + y in terms of w and z?

Given: l₁‖ l₂

Let m and n be two transversals cutting them

∠w + ∠x = 180^o(Consecutive interior angle)

x = 180^o – w (i)

z = y (Alternate angles) (ii)

From (i) and (ii), we get

x + y = 180^o – w + z

An angle is equal to 5 times its complement. Find the angle.
