If a * b denotes the larger of ‘a’ and ‘b’ and if a∘b = (a*b) + 3, then write the value of (5)∘(10), where * and ∘ are binary operations.[CBSE 2018]

Given: a*b denotes the larger of ‘a’ and ‘b’ and a∘b = (a * b) + 3

To Find: (5)∘(10),

So,

5∘10 = (5 * 10) + 3

(5*10 = 10, as 10 is larger than 5)

5∘10 = 10 + 3 

5∘10 = 13.

Hence,

(5)∘(10) = 13.
