Write the sum of intercepts cut off by the plane on the three axes.[CBSE 2016]

The given equation when written in Cartesian form becomes


⇒ 2x + y - z - 5 = 0


⇒ 2x + y - z = 5


Divide throughout by 5 we get

∴ x intercept = a = 5/2


y intercept = b = 1/5


z intercept = c = - 1/5


a + b + c =


∴ Sum of intercepts = 5/2.
