What led to so many wars?

There can be various reasons for war such as gaining freedom from foreign rule; trying to overthrow the ruling government; greed to annex others territory and make your empire a large one etc. War also occurs when there are disputes between neighboring countries over territory or religion or to take revenge; when that happens then the war becomes bigger after the allies of each nation gives support. Many countries get involved in war just to prove that they are superior to others and in their greed, they may even declare war on other countries who have efficient energy resources.
