Q6 of 45 Page 11

Find the area of the cardboard required to make a closed box of length 25 cm, 0.5 m and height 15 cm.

Given: Length = 25 cm

Breadth = 0.5 m

= 0.5 × 100

= 50 cm

Height = 15 cm

To find: Area of cardboard required

Formula used:

Area of cardboard required = 2(lb + bh + hl)

Explanation:

For the values given:

Area of cardboard required = 2(lb + bh + hl)

=2(25 × 50 + 50 × 15 + 15 × 25)

= 2(1250+750+375)

= 2×2375

=4750 cm2
