What words and phrase reflect the narrator's regret?

The narrator becomes extremely embarrassed upon missing an easy catch. He contemplated his mistake and regretted the thoughts that distracted him away. The phrase "When ah! horror! ..................... possible catch" suggest that his imagination was checked/ruined by his failure to catch the ball. The words "And I muttered..............buttered the catch" show the regret that the narrator underwent and the phrase. "O, ne'er.................terrible pang" shows the pain he felt after receiving the mockery of the crowd and taunt of his fellow teammates. "By the handful...................I'd foozled that catch” suggest that he sensed such deep remorse that his thoughts affected his gestures.

In the last stanza, he decided to quit playing cricket forever and refrained himself from all the happiness of the world which is explained through the words- "Life's void of all pleasure and laughter."
