Q1 of 22 Page 103

Do you believe that actions that leave their footprints on the 'sands of time' ought to be emulated? Substantiate with examples from real life.

Actions do leave behind their footprints on the sands of time, that ought to be emulated. One’s life is not as dull as a mere dream, and neither is it a field where we must venture out as dumb cattle driven by others to perform actions of their will.

Life is indeed a battlefield, where there shall be endless obstacles. Each new day brings with it new challenges, no matter how big or small, and life is all about solving these problems and learning something from them. It is true that there will come a day when our body shall depart from the world; we shall die, leaving behind almost nothing on the surface. The truth, however, is not the same, and man leaves behind a lot even after his death, if only he realizes this simple fact – his actions are indeed like footprints on the sands of time.

A man who continues to act each day of his life with zest and fervor, shall definitely leave behind an example that everyone would like to emulate. Even after his death, he shall be remembered by people, not just close to him, but even those he never formally interacted with, as an inspiration and role model. The ‘sands of time’ are immortal and shall always be preserved. One who performs good deeds and works for the betterment of others, without looking back to regret the past, nor expect a lot from the future with false hope and dreaminess, certainly leaves behind his steps in the form of footprints in the sands of time. This is something to learn from, something to emulate.

The life of Albert Einstein, failure and dropout in school, to the most revered and respected name in the field of Science, is proof of the above fact. Its been years since Einstein’s body has departed from the world, but he is a legacy that continues to live in the world, for his actions and hard work have proved to become footprints in the sands of time, and he continues to inspire millions every day. The same can be said about great men like Gandhi and Lincoln or Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, all legends in their own rights.
