How is the bangle industry of Firozabad a curse for the bangle makers?


The bangle makers in Firozabad like Mukesh are stuck in a vicious cycle which they are unable to get out of. Years of tradition has killed any hope for a better future. Mukesh’s grandfather went blind working in the bangle factory and that was to be the destiny of Mukesh as well, and then his children after him. Being born into a family of bangle makers, you have no choice but to join the business. If anyone tried to break out of this cycle, the middle - men, sahukars and police brought them back and it continued the same way. Justice was never served as the poor have lost their claim over it.
