A game consists of tossing a coin 3 times and noting the outcome each time. If getting the same result in all three tosses is a success, find the probability of losing the game.

If we toss a coin three times, the possible outcomes are

TTT, TTH, THT, THH, HTT, HTH, HHT, HHH

Now success is getting the same result in 3 tosses (TTT, HHH) i.e. 2 outcomes.
The outcomes where the game will be lost are (TTH, THT, THH, HTT, HTH, HHT) i.e. 6 outcomes.
