Characters of Phylum Arthropoda:

(i) These animals are bilaterally symmetrical and segmented.

(ii) They are triploblastic and and coelomate animals.

(iii) The body consists of head, thorax and abdomen.

(iv) They have jointed legs (the word ‘arthropod’ means ‘jointed legs’).
