Discuss what would have happened if there were no restrictions on the power of elected representatives.

The Constitution of India has laid down the power of elected representatives. This has the following advantages:

● It lays down all the rules and regulations on the basis of which the country works.

● It extends certain guidelines which must be kept in mind by the political leaders during the time of the decision-making process.

● The rules which can prevent a political leader to misuse his power are laid down in the Constitution.

If there were no restrictions on the power f elected representatives, the following situation might arise:

● The elected representatives might misuse their powers.

● This may lead to injustice to the citizens of the country.

● There is also a possibility of discrimination on the basis of gender, caste or religion.

● In general, the development of the country might face a lot of obstacles.
