How is Indian secularism different from that of other countries?

The biggest difference between Indian secularism and that of other countries is given below:


1. In most of the democratic countries, secularism implies that the state cannot intervene in religious matters. What is the Indian secularism the state intervenes at times


2. In western countries, the concept of secularism has started much before as compared to India.


3. The state does not have any policy on religious matters in the western countries however in India the state has certain policies regarding the protection of citizen on the context of religion.
