Q10 of 98 Page 310

Solve each of the following systems of equations using matrix method.

3x + 4y – 5 = 0;

x - y + 3 = 0.

To find: - x , y

Given set of lines are : -

3x + 4y – 5 = 0;

x - y + 3 = 0

Converting the following equations in matrix form,

AX = B

3R2 – R1

Again converting into equation form, we get

3x + 4y = 5

- 7 y = - 14

Y = 2

3x + 4y = 5

3x + 4×2 = 5

3x = - 3

X = - 1

∴ x = - 1 , y = 2
