Solve each of the following systems of equations using matrix method.

x + 2y + z = 7;


x + 3z = 11;


2x – 3y = 1.



To find: - x , y , z


Given set of lines are : -


x + 2y + z = 7;


x + 3z = 11;


2x – 3y = 1


Converting following equations in matrix form,


AX = B



R2 – R1


R3 –2R1



R3 + R2



Again converting into equations we get


X + 2y + z = 7


- 2y + 2z = 4


- 9y = - 9


Y = 1


- 2×1 + 2z = 4


2z = 6


Z = 3


X + 2×1 + 3 = 7


X = 7 - 2 - 3


X = 2
