In 2011, India's birth rate was 22 and the death rate was 6. What is the population growth rate?


The Population growth rate of India is 1.8% per cent per annum

Explanation: With the birth rate of 22 means that every year 22 people per 1000 added and with the death rate of 6 means that every 6 people out of 1000 dies, so net every year 22-6 =18 people are added per 1000 person. Growth rate will be (18/1000) x 100 = 1.8 percent per annum.
