What is Population Density? How is the population density of a country calculated?

Population density is referred to the number of people living in an area, it is usually measured in no of people living in per kilometre square area. Population density is measured for a specific area, like population density can be calculated for a country, for a state, for a city or village, it is done by dividing the population of that area by area in square kilometre. Population density of large cities like Delhi, Bangalore is higher than the population density of villages or a small town, as in big cities more number of people are living in per square kilometre number than the population density of villages. Population density of India is 382, which means that 382 number of people are living in per kilometre square area.
