Write a note on Orientalism.

Orientalism is the depiction of aspects in the Eastern world. Followers of orientalism were-William jones and Henry Thomas Colebrooke who came to represent a particular attitude towards India. They had a deep respect for ancient cultures, both East and West. Their opinion was that Indian civilization had already attained its peak in ancient times. They both read the sacred books and texts to understand India better. For that, they had opened a society known as an Asiatic society and published a journal called Asiatic research.
