How did the partition of the country in 1947 affect the jute industry?

After independence, most of the jute-growing areas went to Bangladesh (East Pakistan) resulting in shortening of raw jute while the jute mills are present in West Bengal. So jute has to be imported from Bangladesh which resulted as a serious problem in growing wheat in India.
