Travelling by Metros

Aarti.

Twenty years back, travelling in the city was a huge nuisance. Public transport was insufficient and waiting time was long. Auto rickshaws and taxi cabs were expensive and hard to book. Traffic was heavy in the roads due to large number vehicles. The introduction of metro in the city was a huge blessing.

Metro Rail Service is an interconnected rail system to parts of the city. It is meant for short daily transits. Metro has enabled easy and cheap transport to all parts of the city.

The Metro Rail service has stops every 3-7 kilometers and is well equipped with large number of seats divided into bogeys. It is run on a semi-automatic engine and based on various technologies using electricity as a power source or fuel. It is echo-friendly in this way.

Metros are usually air conditioned and the stations are large and spacious. It is well equipped with public facilities requires by one and all. Tickets are priced at a minimum of 10 rupees for single stop and is priced very reasonably so that it is accessible to everyone.

Commute has been made easy thanks to the metro service and even traffic on roads have been reduced. In the coming 20 years, every part of the city will be connected to rail and travel in the city will go from being a trouble to being fun.

Discipline and Adventure

On the 3rd of March, 2019, fifty students from an unnamed institute went on an adventure trip to Jog Falls in Karnataka. The current was high and it was a dangerous time to play in the water at the waterfall and all students were ordered not to go too close to the water. Sudden flash floods were reported near the banks of the stream as well. The visit to the Falls, however, turned disastrous as ten students disobeyed orders and went to the banks of the stream. They decided to try swimming and were washed away with the current.

When going on such trips, everyone must keep themselves alert and know about the consequences of taking such dangerous action. Clear instructions must be given to one and all before entering such sites. A chaperone must always be present to look over the children and ensure that everyone stays close.

However, all precautions taken by authorities will only be effective if the students or children cooperate. They need to learn to obey rules and not let curiosity get the best of them. Their lives are in their own hands and going for such dangerous activities for the adrenaline rush can lead to death, as it was in this case.

Everyone must look out for one another, but most of all, one must look after themselves.
