State one advantage and one disadvantage of cleistogamy.

Cleistogamy is a type of self-pollination of certain plants that can propagate by using non-opening, self-pollinating flowers.

Advantage: Production of assured seed-set even in the absence of pollinators.

Disadvantage: Least variation is observed as the progeny is a result of self-fertilization.
