What does the crown on allegory of ‘Germania’ signify?

The crown on allegory of ‘Germania’ signifies Heroism.

Allegory is an abstract idea which is expressed either to a person or a thing. In 1848, an artist by the name Philip Velt had painted the painting of Germania on a cotton banner. It was meant to hang from the ceiling of the church of Saint Paul where the Frankfurt Parliament was convened on March 1848. Later it became the allegory of the German Nation. Germania wears a crown of oak leaves as the German oak stand for heroism. Many other painters also painted Germania in different ways. Julius Hubner painted the fallen Germania in 1850. Lorenze Clasen painted Germania guarding the Rhine.
