When light travels from an optically denser medium to a rarer medium, why does the critical angle of incidence depend on the color of light?

The critical angle of incidence for given mediums is sin-1(1/μ), where μ=refractive index of the two mediums. Since, this refractive index depends upon the wavelength of the light, the critical angle also depends upon color of light.
