Name the following:

The three components of a nucleotide.

Each nucleotide consists of three components-

(a) A pentose sugar- A deoxyribose sugar


(b) A nitrogen base


(c) A phosphate group


Nucleotides are derived from a nucleoside by addition of a molecule of phosphoric acid. The phosphate molecule is linked to sugar molecule at carbon no. 5 or at carbon no 3.
