Find the value of k, if x = 3, y = 1 is a solution of the equation 2x + 5y = k.

2x + 5y = k


Putting, x = 3 and y = 1 in 2x + 5y = k


⇒ 2×3 + 5×1 = k


⇒ 6 + 5 = k


⇒ 11 = k


Hence, k = 11
