We know that a determinant of a 3 x 3 matrix is calculated as



= 3[1 – (-2)(3)] + 4[1 – (-2)(2)] + 5[3-2]


= 3[1 + 6] + 4[1 + 4] + 5[1]


= 3[7] + 4[5] + 5


= 21 + 20 + 5


= 46


The determinant of the above matrix is 46.
