Give one characteristic feature of a sectional interest group.

A sectional interest group functions to promote the interests of a particular section of the society such as workers or employees or industrialists. They work for the betterment of their members and not the society in general.


NOTE – People belonging to a particular section of the society come together to form such a group. The various trade unions and organizations, for example, FICCI (Federation of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries) was formed to promote the business interests of the industrialists against the colonial policies are called interest groups.
