Forests can be conserved in the following ways:

(a) Creating awareness among the people about advantages of forests and the way the life will become in absence of forests. This is motivate people to work on their on own towards conserving forests, using resources wisely.

(b) People participation, public private partnership (PPP), joint forest management etc. are some of the steps can be taken in various regions for conserving the depleting forests.

(c) One can adopt practices like shelter wood harvesting, strip cutting, selective cutting as alternatives for complete cutting of forest areas.

(d) By silviculture that means reforesting those forest lands from where large number of trees has been cut in a planned way.
