In the given circuit, calculate the current shown by the ammeter and total resistance of the circuit.

In the circuit, two resistances of 2 Ω each are connected in series and then connected to 4Ω in parallel. The equivalent resistance of resistances in series = 2+2 = 4Ω . The equivalent resistance of 4Ω and the resultant of two 2 ohms (4Ω ) = + = + = = or R = 2 ohms. As total equivalent resistance is 2 ohms, Current in circuit will be = = 2 amperes. The ammeter will show a current of 2 amps, and the total resistance of the circuit is 2 ohms.
