Dams are opposed by the public due to following social and environmental problems:

1. Construction of large dams will led to dislocation of people from that place. This is the social problem due to which the public is in opposition of the construction of the large dams.


2. Submerging of flora and fauna is the environmental issue which occurs due to construction of dams.
