Rampal decided to donate canvas for 10 tents, conical in shape with base diameter 14 m and height 24 m to a center for handicapped persons’ welfare. If the cost of 2 m wide canvas is Rs. 40 per meter, find the amount by which Rampal helped the center.

Given:

Base diameter(d) = 14 m


Base radius(r) = 7 m


Height(h) = 24 m


Slant height (l) =


⇒ Slant height (l) = 25 m


Lateral surface Area (A) = π × r × l = 550 m2


Width of canvas = 2 m


Length of canvas = = 275m


Answer: The amount Rampal will donate = (275 × 40) = Rs. 11000
