Write the expression for Freundlich’s equation to describe the behaviour of adsorption from solution.

Factors affecting the behavious of adsorption from solution:


⇒ Nature of the adsorbate and adsorbent


⇒ Temperature. The adsorption decreases with increase in temperature.


⇒ Surface area of the adsorbent. Greater the surface area, greater is the adsorption.


⇒ Concentration of the solute in the solution.


The expression for Freundlich’s equation to describe the behaviour of adsorption from solution is given below:

Where n is a positive integer and n and k are the constants depending upon the nature of the adsorbate and adsorbant at particular temperature and C is the concentration.
