Anne Frank’s statement, “What one Christian does is his own responsibility, what one Jew does reflects on all Jews” presents not only hatred for the Jews but also their pitiable condition in the world. Comment.

The Germans had ill feeling & negative attitude towards the jews. The wrong opinion of the Christians towards jews who were denouncing their helpers and caushing them to suffer from the dreadful fate and punishment added to their poor situations.
The Germans had certain misconceptions about the jews due to which they misunderstood and ill-treated them. The jews were oppressed by the Germans. Their freedom was severely restricted by a series of anti- Jewish decrees which included wearing a yellow star, forbidden from using trams, forbidden from attending theatres, swimming pools, tennis courts etc. Anne Frank talks about how Jews were dehumanized & identified as “lesser beings,” but also being held to higher standards of conduct than other people. What for a non-jewish person would be considered a mistake, for a jew would be considered proff of a collective inferiority. As Anne says, “We can never be Dutch, or just English, or whatever, we will always be jews as well. ”Their only hope from the Dutch is to be fair to them.
