A. Mij invented a unique way of playing a ball game. One of the author’s suitcase was damaged during the journey. This was Mijbil’s play arena. The suitcase top had a slope which was slant. Mijbil would drop the ball from the height of the slope and would hurriedly catch it on the deeper end of the slope.

B. Chubukov suspects Lomov since he thinks Lomov has come to borrow money from him. But Lomov is unable to express his desire to marry Chubukov’s daughter. This increases Chubukov’s suspension.


C. Mme was always unhappy because of her social status. She wanted to be a very wealthy person and be surrounded by servants. But she was not able to attain such social standard. Hence she was unhappy.


D. Sulekha had fallen off her cot when she was barely ten months old. This accident damaged her head badly and as a result she became a slow learner or a simpleton. So she was nicknamed as Bholi.
