⇒ x = y - 5 eq.[1]

Also, Sum of their ages is 25 years,

⇒ x + y = 25

From eq.[1]

⇒ y - 5 + y = 25

⇒ 2y = 30

⇒ y = 15

Putting this in eq.[1]

⇒ x = 15 - 5 = 10
