Multiply eqn 1 by 13 and eqn 2 by 7 subtract eqn 1 from eqn 2


∴7 × 13a + 13 × 13b = 27 × 13


91a + 169b = 351----let equation 3


∴13 × 7a + 7 × 7b = 33 × 7


91a + 49b = 231----let equation 4



⇒ b = 1


and a = 2
