Find the roots of the following quadratic equation by factorization:


⇒ x2 - 2x - 3 = 0


⇒ x2 – 3x + 1x - 3 = 0


⇒ x(x - 3) + 1(x - 3) = 0


⇒ (x + 1) (x - 3) = 0


The roots of the equation are those value for which (x + 1) (x - 3) = 0


⇒ x = - 1 or 3


Hence - 1 and 3 are the roots of the given equation.
