Which of the following sets are equal?

i. A = {1, 2, 3, 4}, B = {4, 3, 2, 1}


ii. A = {4, 8, 12, 16}, B = {8, 4, 16, 18}

Y = {x : x is a positive even integer 0 < x < 10}


iv. P = {x : x is a multiple of 10, }


Q = {10, 15, 20, 25, 30, ...}

i. A = {1, 2, 3, 4}


B = {4, 3, 2, 1}


∴ A and B have exactly same elements.


∴ A = B


ii. A = {4, 8, 12, 16}


B = {8, 4, 16, 18}


∴ A and B does not have exactly same elements.


∴ A ≠ B


iii. X = {2, 4, 6, 8}


Y = {x : x is a positive even integer 0 < x < 10}


Positive even numbers between 0 to 10 are : 2, 4, 6, 8


∴ Y = {2, 4, 6, 8}


∴ X and Y have exactly same elements.


∴ X = Y


iv. P = {x : x is a multiple of 10, }


Multiples of 10 which are natural numbers are : 10, 20, 30, 40 …


∴ P = {10, 20, 30, 40 ……}


Q = {10, 15, 20, 25, 30, ...}


∴ P and Q does not have exactly same elements.
