Compute the area of the parallelogram below:

Height of the triangle = 3.5 cm

Base of the triangle = 6 cm

The area of the triangle =

= 6 × 3.5

= 10.5 cm²

From the fig. we can say that the parallelogram is constituted of 2 triangles

∴ Area of the parallelogram = 2 × Area of triangle

= 2 × 10.5

= 21 cm²
