Q58 of 61 Page 93

Find all the possible dimensions (in natural numbers) of a rectangle with a perimeter 36cm and find their areas.

Perimeter of rectangle = 36 cm.

2 × (l + b) = 36

l + b = 18

So l × b = 16 × 2; 14 × 4; 12 × 6 etc.

Area for l × b = 16 × 2 = 32 sq.cm

Area for second case = 14 × 4

= 56 sq.cm

Area for third case = 12 × 6

= 72 sq.cm
