Who am I?

I am a chemical factory of the cell.

Mitochondria

Mitochondria are the chemical factory since,

a) It posses its own DNA which makes it self-replicating organelle.

b) It can synthesize its own proteins because it posses ribosomes.

c) Mitochondria are a double-membraned structure with inner membrane foldings called "cristae".

d) It oxidizes carbohydrates and fats to generate ATP which is the energy currency of cells.
