Vacuole

Vacuole is present in a plant cell, animal cells mostly do not contain a cell wall.

i) The basic function of vacuole is to store the metabolic products like glucose, glycogen, proteins etc.

ii) Vacuole occupies a good amount of cellular space and maintains the osmotic pressure of the cell.

iii) In plant cell, they maintain turgidity and rigidity because they contain the Cell SAP while in animal cells they perform storage function.
