Explain the provisions of the Forest Act passed by the Dutch.

The Dutch started the forest management in Java in Indonesia. They realised it was important to control lands so they passed the Forest Act. The provisions of the Forest act passed by the Dutch were:

• Only for the important purposes like for making the boat or constructing houses, wood can cut down but under the supervision of the authoritative person.


• Villagers were punished if they graze their cattle.


• Transportation of wood without permission was not allowed.


• People can’t travel of the forest road with their carts or cattle.
