What was Blandongdiensten system?

The Blandongdeinsten system was introduced by the Dutch.

They laid down rules which would force the peasants and forest people to work for free (collect timber, milk cows and buffaloes, etc.), with the exemption of village tax.

This was yet another smart plan devised by the colonial powers to gain complete control over the country.
