Explain any five features of Dutch scientific forestry in Java?

The Dutch found it necessary to control the territory. As a result, they enacted forest laws in Java which restricted villagers to access to forest lands. The five features of the Dutch scientific forestry in Java were:

• Villagers were restricted to cultivate on forest lands the way they wanted.

• Wood should only be cut according to the requirement like for making riverboats or for constructing houses.

• Wood should be cut only in specific forests under close supervision.

• For grazing cattle in young stands, villagers were punished.

• For transporting wood without a permit and for travelling on forest roads with horse carts or cattle, people were punished under the forest laws.
