Explain whether 3 × 12 × 101 + 4 is a prime number or a composite number.

A Composite number can be divided exactly by a whole number other than itself.


3 × 12 × 101 + 4


= 3 × 3 × 4 × 101 + 4


= 4 [3 × 3 × 101 + 1]


So the above expression is divisible by 4 so the given number is a composite number.


Prime number is number which divisible by itself or 1, so the given number is not a prime number.
